Cat Scratches and Anti-freeze…

Cat Scratches and Anti-freeze…

My Dad is lucky I love him…

Today I swore at him a lot.

If you recall the post  Never let your Dad babysit your Mustang…you will recall there were some issues.

I love my Dad to bits, but his OCD for his well in this case MY vehicles, seems to be reasonably less than mine.

I am a total freak about my car. No one else drives her, no one else works on her, unless I know and trust them…and god forbid if you get anywhere near her unless you are naked. That is a hard and fast rule. No exceptions.

Now don’t get me wrong here, I totally appreciate the fact that my Dad looked after my car for almost a year for me. Although in hindsight it was all for naught. But he didn’t think there was an issue with the cat walking on it…or the muddy foot prints that were all over it when I came to pick it up. I, on the other hand almost had a heart attack.

Today was beautiful outside, so I did all my chores, went and saw my hot Doctor and concluded that the thing that is living in my eye is not an alien or anything life threatening…good to know. It is just some kind of bubble thing, so small he couldn’t even find it…good for a chuckle when he brought the monster magnifying glass in and found it finally. He really thought it was funny when I told him that my girlfriend at work that saw the alien in my eye in the first place is blind as a freaking bat…sorry Janis, but you are…and it helped me flirt, so all good.

Anyhooo, I went second hand store shopping and found absolutely nothing to buy…though I did start Christmas shopping today, yay me..

Now back to the original story…

Sidetracked much?

I started the old girl up…and thankfully she started with the first few cranks…sweet. I have promised myself that I will be diligent with warming her up regularly this year, usually I suck at it…

So outside into the sunshine we go… holy crap, dirty girl…the car I mean.

I never clean the car with water, unless it has been in the rain, I always use Meguiar’s Quik Detailer…it is an amazing product and if you haven’t tried it, you should…I have sold so much of the stuff they should give me a freaking cut…

While I was doing that…I found CAT SCRATCHES…

you heard me…

CAT SCRATCHES…underneath my windshield on the **gasp**paint…

This is the part where I swore at my Dad…

Out loud…

The neighbors might have heard me…

I knew I had some scratch remover in the garage, so I went and got it, put a little on…let it dry. In which time I walked around the rest of the car with my eagle eye to see if there were more…lucky for that damn cat, there weren’t.

It worked, I got the scratches out…but I still swore at my Dad one more time, just because.

Since I was successful with the first dilemma, I figured what the hell, I have been putting the job off for months now, it is time to get my ass under the hood and see if I can get the antifreeze marks off of the valve covers. My first try, chrome polish…ya, nothing.

Second try…Comet…a little bit better, but still not amazing. I asked some friends and was told to try Tarnex or maybe CLR…I will work on that this week…

So I sort of gave up on that part, and used my trusty old Q-tips to clean out the cracks filled with oil and grunge, tightened all the way too loose valve cover screws and stood there realizing how grungy the whole damn engine is. I need to take it out and have a redo…or maybe I should see if I can find anywhere that does a good engine steam clean, I also have to replace the hose from the radiator to the nonexistant overflow bag…it is cracked and was barely hanging on at all, I cut it off and reattached it for now, but it is probably as old as the car is…I should maybe check into getting an overflow container too huh?

So tonight as I sit here typing this, I am thinking…if the weather stays nice, maybe even tomorrow, regardless of the fact that I don’t have a job, and might not be able to feed Colton for a few days because of it…I need to get a day pass for her, and drive her for the day, all day…just rip around town, maybe go to Courtenay…

I think I might…and it’s fall, so it’s probably the perfect time for a photo shoot, it’s been a while since I took some good pictures of her…

It would make me smile, so I think I will…

Happy Wednesday friends…xoxo

Your baby is beautiful… And Colton will survive for a couple days without food. ;)  What kind of craftiness did ya get into today???  This inquiring mind surely wants to know!

I'm sure I've never seen a more gorgeous car than yours. I saw a white one a few months back at a gas station and the car behind me beeped because I was just sat there staring at it. I gave them the finger and stared a bit longer! A well deserved gesture I thought.

I totally love how you know all this car stuff. I wouldn't be able to fix a car even if someone told me what to do step by step..

OMG! I feel ya on the cat scratches. The strays around here would get up on my old fox body and cobra and I found scratches. Made me want to take out these precious lil furbags! Glad the scratches came out. Seeing the pic of your stang makes me miss mine. Don't think I'll ever love the Vette as much as them.

P.S. Thanks for the morning eye candy. I think he actually called my name! ;-)
