Easy Homemade Bread

I love homemade bread, this is a super easy and delicious recipe that is pretty much fool proof, hence me using it!! I haven’t used my bread machine much in the last year or two, but my Mom motivated me with her amazing bread, which I will also get the recipe to…that and the fact that bread is now about $4 a freaking loaf. This is way cheaper, and you know what you are eating. That is always a good thing :)

What you need:

  • 1 1/8 cups of water
  • 2 tsp of yeast
  • 3 tbsp of sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dry milk

What you do:

Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes.

Add the butter, flour and salt to the yeast. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press start and wait for the goodness to happen.

You could also use this recipe to make a loaf of bread in your oven, the only difference being you do all the work.

After letting the yeast sit in the water, mix all ingredients and knead gently for about 10 minutes, place in bowl in warm place (heat your oven gently at about 150° while you are kneading, and then turn it off, placing the bread in warmed oven to rise)

Let rise til dough is doubled, beat down dough and knead it again for about 10 minutes…let rise one more time somewhere warm until doubled in size.

Bake at 350° for about 35 minutes.

So good with some nice warm soup, or as toast in the morning!!

Have a great day folks!!
